Manfred is a Dusseldorf-based external PhD student at the Chair of Information Systems & Transformation Management at the University of Duisburg-Essen. With an academic background in economics, social security law and public health and over 20 years of consulting experience, he focuses his research on the successful management of digital transformation, AI-driven process automation and the human factor.
In his professional life, Manfred has been a Senior Partner at IBM Consulting since October 2017 and is responsible for the public sector consulting business for Germany, Austria and Switzerland and for the Government Industry in EMEA. He previously held various management positions at IBM, including leading IBM's SAP consulting business with the public sector in Europe. In his role, Manfred is responsible for customer projects in the areas of digitalization, artificial intelligence, cloud, modernization of application systems and projects with SAP, Microsoft, Salesforce, AWS etc.
Prior to IBM, Manfred held various positions at the German Public Pension Fund (DRV).
