Dr August-Wilhelm Scheer is one of the most influential researchers and entrepreneurs in the IT and software industry as well as a sought-after political advisor and public speaker. His books are among the standard works of business process management and were translated in many languages. The ARIS process management approach he developed is used globally in numerous large and medium-sized companies.
He is the founder of successful consulting and software companies, including the consulting firm Scheer, the software company Scheer PAS and imc which provides digital learning technologies.
To promote the transfer of research results into practice, he founded 2014 the August-Wilhelm Scheer Institute for Digital Products and Processes.
As an entrepreneur and thought leader, Dr Scheer is actively involved in shaping the digital economy. He has received numerous international awards. In 2017 he was included into the German Research Hall of Fame, 2023 he received an honorary doctorate from Widener University in Philadelphia, who recognized him as “global thought leader and innovator”. He was also awarded the prestigious Rudolf Diesel Medal for "Most Successful Innovations".
