Dr. Alireza Nili is a Senior Lecturer in Service Science from the School of Information Systems at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Alireza’s research focuses on understanding and improving trust in and adoption of digital services, such as AI-supported services (particularly chatbots) and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT), in emerging contexts.
Alireza has had roles such as track chair and associate editor at major conferences in the field of Management Information Systems such as the International Conference on Information Systems, the European Conference on Information Systems, and the Australasian Conference on Information Systems. Alireza has won awards such as the Educator of the Year award (2023 Executive Dean’s Outstanding Achievement Award, ECR/MCR, Faculty of Science, QUT). He has been a chief investigator of several industry-academic projects, such as a project in the context of consumer trust in chatbots for retail services with the Australian Retail Association as well as Cooperative Research Centres (CRC) projects with industry partners such as Cisco.
Alireza has contributed articles to various esteemed journals in Management Information Systems such as Communications of the ACM, MIT Sloan Management Review, International Journal of Information Management, Electronic Commerce Research, Public Performance & Management Review, IEEE Software, ISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information, Smart Cities, and Sustainable Cities and Society.
